Tickling vacations

And here is part 3 of Rui & Fuyu adventures, completing 2013 season greetings series ;) Believe or not, I sketched this pic around October, mostly cause I found a brief frame of free time and tgus I wanted to put this idea on paper:

Quite sketchy sketch huh?
After some weeks, found again some free time to in the pic digitally, transforming this sketch into a clean lineart:
Much more comprehensible lines I'd dare to say! :P The pic is intendeed to for coloring since the beginning, so there aren't big black ink areas as the shading task will be mostly done by colors.
Ad there we go, now Rui and Fuyu can enjoy their vacations...or plan a payback on those two brats tickling them ;)

That's wrap time :)

Part 2 of Xmas 2013 pinups :)
Elvina and Serena couldn't allow Rui & Fuyu to steal the stage of the season greetings pics! As usual it all starts with a sketch defining the idea on paper:

Actually before the sketch itself, there's a bunch of ref lines and doodles, but I'd skip showing that part this time ;) Follows the inking stage:

And the coloring where I added lettering and all effects:
Hope you like :)

Queen Sara vacations

A friend sent me a lovely sketch of queen Sara (from my Fantasy Frontier DiD/tickling comic), which inspired this quick sketch I did based on his idea:

I went to color this quick pic in a similar sketchy style:
But I felt the background colors were distracting a bit from the main figure, so I desaturated them a bit and changed the tones:

And there you have! Poor queen Sara! Or poor captor when she breaks free ;)

Wacom Cintiq 13HD... with Elvina winter sketch part 3

I recently got to try the power of a Wacom Cintiq 13HD graphic tablet so I'm sharing my impressions here :)

If you haven't heard about Cintiq, it's basically a graphic tablet with an LCD monitor (so more specifically it's called Interactive Pen Display) giving you the possibility to draw directly on screen, thanks to a very porfessional-level input pen with 2048 levels of pressure. In short, it's like drawing on paper with all good things coming from digital drawing (the possibility to undo mistakes, faster edits and so on).

Installation was quite easy, just be sure you have an USB and an HDMI port ready for Cintiq. I have a Thunderbolt port so I had to find an adapter (a mini-display port to HDMI adapter to be exact, very easy-to-find and cheap). Then it's just a matter of installing the drivers, plugging the tablet and you're ready to go; the system sees the new device as a second display and that's how it works basically :) From your operating system display system you can choose if Cintiq is the main display, the secondary one or if it should duplicate the computer display screen. I choose it to became a secondary display, meaning that my (wider) computer screen remains the main screen for most common tasks, and where the menu bars appear. The cintiq instead is where I drop windows or file and work on them, allowing more focus o drawing, not having other windows or menu bars around. Other settings regard the tablet itself, with great customizable buttons (you can customize them in general or specifically for each software), the pen pressure and sensibility and all the nice stuff you're already used to if you know Wacom tablets.

The tablet can be easily put at three different angles/height thanks to the base. I found the widest angle the most comfortable:
The tablet, in this 13HD version we're looking at, is not too big, but big enough for allowing some good sight of your drawing on its screen:
This pic should give you a clue about the tablet size compared to a keyboard.
Most improtantly, the tablet works very well and speed up workflow. There's a more direct feeling compared to drawing with a standard graphic tablet; you look directly at what you're drawing, and that really adds something to the drawing experience imho. Very very suggested to digital artists, but also quite expensive, so if you can, first try it before deciding to buy it :) Here is a quick doodle I did with Cintiq...

...continuing the "epic" series of Elvina winter outfit :P Colored version here:

Rui and Fuyu mummy peril

After seeing the Rui mummy skecth on twitter -here-, a friend mentioned an idea baout Rui and Fuyu going to relax to a spa, ending up caught by some rogues and wrapped in...seaweeds XD So here is the sketch I did based on this concept:

Followed by the colored version:

What do you think? They'll get out of their bindings soon or they'll have to spend their relax day wrapped like that? XDXD
